Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Technician

There is an exciting opportunity to join the Bird-Johnson team as an Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Technician, where you'll play a key role in building high-performance marine propulsion systems that serve the U.S. Navy and commercial vessels around the world. As an Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Technician, you will evaluate and perform preventative and corrective maintenance on production equipment and tools, including multi-axis milling machines, foundry auxiliary support systems, and facilities assets. You'll be responsible for troubleshooting hydraulic, mechanical, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems/components to ensure operational uptime and equipment reliability. Key Accountabilities (not all-inclusive): Mechanical: Diagnose and repair milling and turning machines. Perform troubleshooting and repairs of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Facilities: Support site facilities, including HVAC systems, cooling towers, security access systems, and fire detection/suppression systems. Electrical/Controls: Troubleshoot automated equipment using PLCs. Apply knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC) for electrical conductor specifications, conduit installation requirements, repair of existing and installation of new electrical services. Basic Requirements: Minimum 3+ years' experience as a multi-craft (electrical and mechanical) industrial manufacturing technician or equivalent technical experience in troubleshooting and repairs. Ability to lift components weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to safely operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and equipment movers (training will be provided). Must be a U.S. Citizen and eligible to obtain and maintain Security Clearance. High School Diploma or GED required. Preferred Qualifications: 5+ years of experience as a multi-craft industrial manufacturing technician performing troubleshooting/repairs and preventative maintenance. In-depth knowledge of power distribution systems, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), variable frequency drives (VFDs), foundry operations, gas furnace combustion controls, machine tool technology (manual and CNC), tribology, welding and fabrication, HVAC systems, overhead cranes (up to 125MT), and bachelor's degree in industrial manufacturing maintenance. Detailed understanding of mechanical, pneumatic, furnace gas combustion, and hydraulic system operations, general site facility maintenance, proficiency or ability to learn computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) preferably Maximo, and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook, etc.).
