About New Hope for Families New Hope for Families provides shelter and early learning programs that keep families together and lift children into a promising future.
The New Hope Early Learning Center enrolls up to 54 children ages birth-to-five across our 4 classrooms. We provide child-centered care, focus on developmentally appropriate practices (DAP), and use a continuity of care model that creates secure, thriving relationships between our teachers and children. We reserve at least half of our enrollment spots in each classroom for families who need it most-- families who have experienced homelessness or are at serious risk of homelessness. We couldn’t provide top quality childcare without our outstanding teaching and center support staff, and we are looking for someone with the right skills and experience to join our superlative team.
About the Job This role plans and implements the Music Program for New Hope classrooms. Each of the four classrooms receives two 30 minute music classes per week. Our classrooms include Infants, Ones, Twos, and a mixed-age group PreK (3-5yrs). This role also supports classroom teachers by helping provide planning time to classroom leads, stepping into ratio when needed, and being an extra set of hands onsite to help when not teaching a music class.
Duties
Required duties include: -Plan a purposeful, age-appropriate music class 2x weekly for each classroom -Implement music lesson plans -Responsible for managing the music class budget, ordering materials, and caring for materials -Collaborate with classroom teachers and families to share which music aspects children are enjoying -Willing to fill in when needed in the classroom -Team-player mindset with professional, kind attitude -Attends staff meetings and in-service meetings -Additional duties as assigned
Requirements
Required Qualifications -Child Development Associate’s or higher degree in Early Childhood Education, or Music Education degree -Must be willing to undergo CPR and first aid training -Must be willing to undergo criminal background check and drug screen -Must be willing to undergo a physical and TB test

Preferred Qualifications -Two years of teaching experience in a state-licensed center -Strong understanding of DAP, and Whole-Child approach to teaching -Collaborative team player -Understanding of Paths to Quality standards
