Salary Placement:
New employees will start at the minimum hourly rate in the classification salary range. However, employees who have verified prior years of service of similar occupational experience may receive experience credit towards salary step placement.

SUMMARY STATEMENT:
Under the supervision of the Manager, IT Systems and Security, the IT User Support Technician works as part of a team to support account and access services, assist with user account processes and rostering, maintain records and documentation related, and provide general IT support for district systems and resources
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Communicate clearly with students, staff, and stakeholders, translating technical issues into plain language appropriate to the audience. Support lifecycle processes for staff and student network accounts for Active Directory, Entra ID/Microsoft 365, and Google Workspace. This includes:
Creating accounts manually and through automated tools. Assigning licenses and managing access via groups and Organizational Units. Monitoring directory synchronization across platforms. Facilitating rostering with systems such as OneRoster and Clever to ensure timely access to instructional resources. Performing end-of-lifecycle tasks such as archiving accounts and deleting or transferring data.
Provide user support and troubleshoot IT services, including site visits when needed. Install software and provide initial training as needed. Contribute to ongoing documentation of IT systems, processes and procedures. OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT NECESSARY:
Standard office equipment and technology including desktop and laptop computers, mobile devices, printers, telephony systems, and enterprise IT tools necessary to perform the essential functions of the position, such as management platforms including Microsoft Entra, Google Workspace, and Active Directory.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences. Associate's Degree with focus on Information Technology, Computer Science or related field; or two (2) years relevant work experience. Basic understanding of scripting languages such as PowerShell, and SQL for automation and troubleshooting. Familiarity with Active Directory, including basic account administration, group membership, and organizational unit structure. Experience with administering current Windows and Chrome operating systems and Microsoft 365 preferred. Ability to follow established procedures accurately, maintain confidentiality of sensitive information, and work effectively as part of a team. Familiarity with Google Workspace Admin Console preferred. Experience with educational technology rostering services such as Clever and ClassLink's OneRoster and OneSync preferred. Exposure to directory synchronization and identity management concepts across multiple platforms preferred. Must possess a valid motor vehicle license and be able to travel from location to location. Must possess a mobile phone with a data plan and be willing to install and use multi-factor authentication (MFA) apps such as Duo, Google Authenticator, or Microsoft Authenticator as required for system access.
