Senior Commercial Appraiser

As a Senior Commercial Appraiser you'll support and administer the commercial appraisal process. You'll review appraisals submitted to the bank's Appraisal Department, and periodically review and administer appraisal requests received from the different lines of business, selection and engagement of fee appraisers. One of your key responsibilities is to interact closely within the department, lending team, credit team, and other personnel, providing guidance and a high level of customer service, while ensuring strict compliance with state and federal regulatory guidelines and bank policies. Responsibilities include: Supporting the Chief Appraisal Officer in reviewing appraisals submitted to the bank's Appraisal Department, focusing on regulatory compliance, value and marketability reasonability, dependent upon market influencing factors and property complexity. Ensuring all file materials including review documents, review notes, additional data collected, email exchanges between reviewer and appraiser and consultant, are saved in the appropriate department repository. Adherence to company and regulatory policies, regulations, and compliance framework, and escalate concerns and questions when appropriate. Participate in ongoing functionality enhancements to the department operating platform. May periodically be required to review and administer appraisal requests, compose property description and scope of work narrative, and select engage fee appraisers. Additionally, may assist with formulation of internal appraisal policy and regulatory compliance processes, procedures, guidelines through knowledge and thorough understanding of internal policies, FIRREA, Interagency Guidelines, and USPAP. Qualifications include: 6+ years of related experience in Commercial Appraisal and environmental due diligence processes or similar field. High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree in related field preferred. Intermediate to advanced knowledge of general banking operations, including deposit operations, loan administration, treasury management and/or other commercial banking products and services. Intermediate to advanced knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices. Intermediate to advanced experience, knowledge and training in all lending activities related to the appraisal of complex properties and interests. Advanced speaking and writing communication skills. Certified General Real Estate Appraiser required.
