Hiring Department: College of Natural Sciences Position Open To: All Applicants Weekly Scheduled Hours: 19 FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Earliest Start Date: Immediately Position Duration: Expected to Continue Until Dec 31, 2025 Location: UT Main Campus Purpose: The CNS IT Student Associate will assist our 1st-tier support team at CNS IT and perform early morning checks to ensure that classroom technology is functioning properly from 6:30 to 8:00 am. (Morning Checks are required). We also help to collectively run the Help Desk from 8a-8pm. Responsibilities
Assist faculty and other classroom users with the operation of multimedia and computer systems. Assist with management of inventory in the College of Natural Science's technology classrooms. Identify and repair faults and failures within basic audio/visual systems. Provide on-call telephone and technical support to classroom users. Other related responsibilities and functions as assigned. Required Qualifications
Must have been enrolled as a full-time student in the Spring. Punctuality and clarity of mind regarding your defined schedule. Must be detail oriented, task driven, and possess time management skills. Intermediate Excel skills. An intermediate understanding of basic concepts in information security. Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs. may be required; accommodations and equipment are available to support safe handling. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate. Salary Range
$14.50/hour Working Conditions
May work around standard office conditions. Repetitive use of computer equipment. Use of manual dexterity. Reasonable lifting and moving. Wear appropriate office attire. Work as a team member as well as independently. Accept supervision. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required. We are looking for someone who can work a minimum of 2-hour blocks at a time. Flexible schedules (will be discussed during the interview). The position will be in person and remain in person. Required Materials
