The candidates will gain subspecialty experience working with an established team of academic arthroplasty surgeons in clinical and operative practice. The program will include exposure to multiple surgeons and techniques, as well as direct patient care in the operating room and outpatient clinics. Additionally, the candidate will be welcome to participate in clinical and basic science research projects. Candidates will work with multiple attending surgeons at multiple sites within the Beth Israel Lahey Hospital network, including BIDMC, BID-Milton, BID-Needham, and NEBH. BIDMC will serve as the central location for this opportunity. Candidates will be integrated into the schedules of four core, arthroplasty fellowship-trained staff. At the conclusion of this 1-year program candidates will have gained expertise in all core aspects of clinical care of hip and knee arthroplasty, including preoperative evaluation and diagnosis, operative techniques, postoperative management, and management of acute and long-term complications.
