RF Simulation Engineer

The GWEF is seeking a Subject Matter Expert (SME) level Radar Frequency (RF) Simulation Modeler/Engineer to support Hardware-in-the-Loop (HITL) testing. This role will collaborate with functional teams to create/develop and manage RF target models in multiple configurations, manage a materials library for signature prediction codes, create and verify RF signatures using modeling and simulation processes and tools, and post process signature files from modeling sources or range collected data sources. Key Responsibilities Generate high-fidelity RF signatures by applying established processes, analyzing data, developing algorithms, and documenting results. Develop algorithms that model the temporal evolution of RF signatures in spatial contexts, capturing how signal characteristics change over time and space for realistic target representation. Maintain clear and accurate test documentation, including data logs, analysis summaries, and formal reports. Ensure all testing procedures adhere to applicable industry and internal standards. Collaborate directly with customers to support RF modeling activities and participate in technical reviews. Required Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant engineering or scientific discipline. 10+ years of hands-on experience in RF modeling, simulation, or related fields. U.S. citizenship with an active SECRET clearance (or ability to obtain one), and eligibility for TOP SECRET upgrade. Recognized Subject Matter Expert in RF phenomenology, with deep expertise in RF target modeling and simulation. Skilled at creating algorithms and reviewing models for correctness, completeness, and suitability for testing. Proficient in Linux-based environments. Preferred Qualifications Proficiency in scripting or coding with tools like MATLAB, Python, or similar languages for simulation automation and data processing. Experience using electromagnetic simulation tools such as Xpatch and/or Ansys HFSS, including running and analyzing signature generation tasks. Ability to interpret simulation outputs and post-process I/Q data into deliverables such as SAR, ISAR, RCS, and range profiles. Competence in modifying mesh or IGES models, including applying material properties and managing part hierarchies. Security Clearance Ability to obtain and hold a SECRET security clearance. Must be eligible for upgrade to TOP SECRET.
