Position Overview
Candidate should have a foundation in writing technical documentation, briefings, and manuals and be comfortable interacting with software engineers, development teams, customers, and users. The technical writer should have the ability to design and layout graphical product overviews and related marketing material. Responsibilities
Research, develop and write user focused and maintainer focused technical documentation and training materials for military and commercial systems. Edit technical publications to meet CDRL requirements. Learn and understand the technical design of the system well enough to be effective at transforming input from developers and engineers into written and graphical documents that are understandable by users and customers. Lead and assist with developing briefings in PowerPoint that are suitable for presentation to high level government and corporate personnel. Support and develop training materials for software centric IT systems. Required Experience/Qualifications
Bachelor of Science, with a concentration in Information Systems, Communications or Engineering preferred. Minimum 3 years of experience in technical writing. Customer focused with strong interpersonal skills. Ability to understand high level IT and software concepts. Ability to communicate with development teams, engineers, technicians, training teams and customer personnel. Ability to ask questions and listen to the answers. Ability to conduct peer reviews of documentation and solicit and incorporate feedback. Ability and drive to complete assignments on schedule. Write using clear and concise language using proper English in a format understandable to the target audience (Users and Maintainers). Ability to create hardware or software documentation from start to finish, including manual formatting, indexing, creation of all text, illustrations, block diagrams, theory of operations, power point presentations, procedures, etc. Ability to create user-focused training materials and courseware. Experience developing briefings in PowerPoint that are suitable for presentation to high level government and corporate personnel. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications to include Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Visio. Preferred Experience/Qualifications
Minimum 1 year experience using Jira and Confluence in an Agile environment. Special Requirements/Security Clearance

Salary Range: Salary Minimum: $65,000, Salary Maximum: $75,000 The annual base salary provided is a guideline for this position and is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. When extending an offer, CESI also considers other variables such as (but not limited to) work experience, education, training, skill set, internal peer equity, clearance level, and market conditions.
