The BlackRock Investment Institute (BII) leverages BlackRocks expertise and produces proprietary research to provide insights on the global economy, markets, geopolitics, and long-term asset allocation - all to help clients and portfolio managers navigate financial markets. We systematically leverage BlackRocks expertise in markets, asset classes, and client segments to help our portfolio managers deliver positive investment results for clients. Our focus is to keep our investment professionals connected, informed, and on the cutting edge of investment thinking. Why is your role important? The candidate will be responsible for conducting research on private markets, including building capital market assumption for private markets, performing research on whole portfolio solutions that include private markets, commitment pacing and cashflow modeling. The research will underpin asset allocations over strategic horizons that give Blackrocks clients the whole-portfolio perspective that they need today. What will you be doing? Identifying and producing impactful and timely private market analysis to inform investment platform debate. Tracking and analyzing global private market trends relevant to investors and whole portfolio solutions. Developing and articulating the BIIs strategic investment views, including capital market assumptions to internal and external stakeholders. Economic and financial modeling: developing, applying, analyzing, and dissecting quantitative models for private markets and portfolio optimization. Participating in global client engagement, internal and external stakeholder communications. What are we looking for? Qualifications: 5+ years of experience in a private markets modeling, whole portfolio approach experience is a bonus. Strong background in private markets and whole portfolio multi asset construction. Intellectually curious and able to frame new issues for investors and clients. A credible thought leader and effective in both verbal and written communications. Ability to communicate complex research to stakeholders. Ability to build and maintain strong relationships internally and externally. Deep knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word); very strong statistical/econometric skills are required. Python and other coding skills highly desirable. AI: Ability to synthesize academic and industry research across machine learning, automation, and economic modeling, and distill relevant insights for strategic decision-making. Graduate-level coursework or hands-on experience with AI tools used in economic forecasting, pricing models, or scenario analysis. For New York, NY only, the salary range for this position is USD$155,000.00 - USD$210,000.00. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including health care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits.
