Test Driver

The test driver, under the direction of the lead driver/facility coordinator, performs various driving tests on new vehicles not out in the public market. Responsibilities
4:00 PM-12:30 PM $19.35 Key responsibilities Candidates must be open to (shifts) and flexible with scheduling as weekend availability required is at times based on project needs. Safely operate pre-release vehicles on assigned routes or designated test areas, following all testing protocols. May be required to operate vehicles on designated routes that include elevated terrain. Conduct full vehicle system testing, including infotainment, tire pressure monitoring, seatbelts, battery, oil, and comfort systems. Utilize tablets, smartphones, and laptops for detailed documentation. Take and upload clear, relevant photos as part of the documentation process. Write clear, concise, and professional reports that accurately describe technical issues. Multitask effectively by maintaining safe driving practices while monitoring vehicle performance. Operate a vehicle lift (training provided) and assist with basic vehicle preparation and support tasks. Perform additional duties such as vehicle shuttling, detailing, or shop support as needed. Follow all safety, operational, and documentation procedures required by Bertrandt and the client. Maintain a high standard of integrity and ethical conduct in handling confidential vehicle information and test results. Contribute to a positive team environment and mentor new drivers when requested. Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required. At least 4 years of licensed driving experience. Current and valid driver's license in the state of employment with no more than two violations in the past three years. Proficient in driving automatic transmission vehicles; manual transmission experience is a plus. Familiarity with new vehicle features and functions. Strong computer and mobile technology skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, Adobe, smartphones). Excellent written communication skills with the ability to clearly document vehicle issues in reports. High attention to detail and ability to safely drive while observing and evaluating vehicle performance. Strong verbal communication skills and a professional demeanor.
