Sets up and operates a production machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. Reads and interprets blueprints and diagrams to select, position and secure machinery. Adjusts machine settings to complete tasks accurately, according to specifications, and in a timely fashion. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. May have to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty with at least 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Machine castings to blueprint specifications Operate CNC controls, drills, broach and lathes Comply with company quality and safety guidelines Maintain a clean and orderly work area Perform other duties as assigned Competencies/Technical/Functional Skills & Knowledge: Minimum: Read Blueprints Read Tape Measure Basic Shop Math General Metals Knowledge Ability to set up and operate equipment Ability to operate fork truck Able to read blueprints Able to set up and read micrometer Able to use gauges Preferred: Ability to work independently Dependability Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma or GED Preferred Qualifications: Previous employment in manufacturing Ability to work in a team oriented setting Good Communication skills
