Job Title: Clinical Exercise Physiologist
The clinical exercise physiologist will have advanced knowledge, competence, and clinical expertise in exercise and pharmacological stress testing. He/she will develop, implement and evaluate exercise prescriptions for all phases of inpatient and outpatient cardiac rehabilitation and be comfortable working with patients with various chronic illnesses. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills as well as ability to provide good rapport with diverse patient populations. Duties/Responsibilities Supervise exercise and pharmacological nuclear, stress echocardiogram, and standard diagnostic stress tests Lead exercise therapy sessions for phase I, II and III cardiac rehabilitation which includes creating exercise prescription, moderating activity to meet individual needs of participants, taking vitals (heart rate, blood pressure, pulse oximetry, assessing symptoms), and ECG telemetry monitoring Follow a caseload of phase II cardiac rehab patients providing individual cardiac risk factor education and coaches patients to achieve optimal outcomes and lifestyle modification Prepares individual treatment plans for medical director review and discharge reports to referring physician Adjust exercise equipment to needs of individual patients Provide ongoing communication to referring physicians/advanced providers regarding stress testing issues and/or patient cardiac rehab progress/issues. Assist outpatients with placement of Holter monitors Holiday and weekend rotations required Requirements Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science kinesiology, or related field, or must have successfully completed a cardiovascular program with a non-invasive specialty. Master's Degree preferred. Experience in stress testing and cardiac rehab preferred. Provides proof of CEP certification through ACSM within 6 months of employment. Current ACSM Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist certification or AACVPR Certified Cardiac Rehabilitation Professional required for Bachelor's degree candidates within 6 months of hire Current BLS certification; Current ACLS certification preferred but will be required within 2 months employment Minimum 2 years' experience or successful completion of 600-hour clinical internship in cardiac rehab setting Proficient in 12 lead ECG interpretation Our Commitment Rooted in our Mission and Core Values, we honor the dignity of every person and recognize the unique perspectives, experiences, and talents each colleague brings.
