Contract Administrator

This position is responsible for providing support with contractual strategy, as well as contract administration for all operational companies under Lyles' group of companies. In addition, this position will assist management on contractual rights, obligations and provide interpretation of contract terms and conditions. While the internal title for this role is Risk Administrator, the scope and duties reflect that of a Contract Administrator. We believe in clearly aligning responsibilities with impact, and this position plays a key role within our Risk and Contracts team, bridging Contract Administrator and Risk Manager levels. The role is critical in minimizing organizational risk through contract and proposal review, compliance checks, and collaboration with operational leaders. Reviews bid documents and contract provisions to advise estimating department regarding upcoming Request for Proposals (RFP). Ability to understand Risk Management concepts and support operations in the avoidance, transference, and mitigation of risk in relation to contractual terms, insurance coverage, and project risk. Provides support to the Estimating department with the preparation of bid documents and qualification statements in responding to RFP's. Reviews contractual terms in relation to public works projects, alternative delivery projects, joint ventures, subcontracts, and other legal documents. Assists administrative staff in conjunction with Risk Manager regarding subcontractor compliance, which includes processing subcontractor change orders, subcontractor pay estimates, receipt of lien releases, and receipt of insurance certificates and endorsements for review. Possesses an understanding and the ability to discuss insurance policy terms and conditions, payment and performance bonds, workers compensation insurance, general liability, and other types of insurance. Understands Owner Controlled Insurance Programs (OCIP), Contractor Controlled Insurance Programs (CCIP), and Subguard programs. Ability to represent company to the public, customers, subcontractors, and governmental agencies in a professional manner. Facilitates assigned new job set-ups to include creating new subcontract templates, logging data on intranet spreadsheets In SharePoint, Progress and Projections Software and Viewpoint Software and required project specific documentation as needed. Processes, updates, and maintains tracking of subcontractor contract documents, subcontractor pay estimates including computational review, owner change orders, insurance certificates, lien waivers, and other required documents. Provides administrative assistance with preparing bid forms, prequalification forms, and sending out documents utilizing overnight mailing services. Answers telephones, relays messages, coordinates mail, and general oversight of administrative operations as part of a team on an as needed basis. Regular, predictable, reliable attendance, and punctuality are essential job functions. Required Education and Experience 5+ years' experience of construction or related industry contract administration required. Ability to identify and resolve complex issues. Advanced knowledge of Viewpoint Construction Software, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word, SharePoint) and Adobe Professional, highly desired. Strong computer skills and familiarization with Enterprise Resource Planning system (ERP) or other document filing system required. Experience using Vista by Viewpoint software is a plus. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
