Actual compensation will be based on a candidate's job-related skills, experience, education or training, and location. The annual base pay range for this position is $75,000.00 - $85,000.00. Additional Compensation: Employees may be eligible to receive annual incentive bonuses depending on their job classification and the policy guidelines. Benefits: Employees are eligible to enroll in medical, dental, and vision insurance, accident insurance, critical illness insurance, hospital indemnity insurance, and telemedicine benefits. Employees are provided company-paid basic life and AD&D insurance as well as short-term and long-term disability. Employees are also able to enroll in the company's 401k retirement savings plan. Work Schedule: Full Time Exempt/ Hybrid (2 days remote). Paid Time Off: Employees accrue 0.0654 hours of PTO per hour worked up to a maximum of 136 hours per calendar year. Employees receive 6 paid holidays throughout the calendar year and employees accrue up to a maximum of 4 paid floating holidays per calendar year. The Transportation & Vehicle Safety Specialist will be responsible for Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) compliance, reporting, training, and program administration related to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulated transportation at Towne Park. This includes ensuring DOT compliance for all Towne Park vehicles and overseeing transportation safety programs across the organization. The Transportation & Vehicle Safety Specialist will lead the creation, implementation, and promotion of defensive driving programs, driver safety education, and operational best practices for all shuttle bus and transportation services. Responsibilities include conducting regular on-site safety inspections, facilitating safety briefings and coaching sessions, managing safety-related communications (including oversight of the Samsara safety inbox), and analyzing telematics and incident data to support proactive risk management. The role will also support accident investigations, coordinate corrective action plans, and collaborate cross-functionally with Field & FSC Leaders to promote a culture of safety and ensure compliance with applicable transportation safety regulations and internal policies. The ideal candidate will be an advocate for preventative safety strategies and continuous improvement in transportation operations. Essential Functions

Partners with Operations to promote safe and efficient delivery of transportation services across all Towne Park locations. Collaborates with internal departments to develop and maintain processes for managing company-owned, leased, and non-owned vehicles to ensure safe and compliant operation. Engages with third-party vendors and internal teams to identify and implement technology-based solutions (e.g., Samsara, fleet management systems) that enhance operational efficiency, fleet safety, DOT compliance, and risk mitigation. Oversees registration renewals for all company vehicles, ensuring timely submission and documentation in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations. Maintains and monitors accurate records for vehicle registrations and auto ID cards in the fleet management system. Manages the disbursement, activation, and auditing of fleet fuel and maintenance cards to ensure responsible usage and cost tracking. Utilizes Samsara or related telematics platforms to assist in route building and optimization, ensuring driver efficiency and safety. Ensures all fleet vehicles follow established routine preventive maintenance schedules, and coordinates service appointments with vendors or internal resources as needed. Reviews and enforces state and local vehicle requirements (e.g., licensing, permits, taxes) for all existing and new transportation sites. Collaborate with Operations, Sales, and Corporate Legal teams to ensure all transportation service contracts meet legal, regulatory, and safety standards. Leads and facilitates regular safety brief calls with field leadership to review safety performance, incident trends, coaching opportunities, and corrective actions. Monitors and manages the Samsara safety inbox, ensuring timely review of telematics data and safety alerts; coordinates appropriate follow-up and resolution. Conducts driver coaching sessions based on telematics insights, incident trends, and field observations. Tracks and documents coaching outcomes to promote safe driving behaviors. Develops, implements, and promotes defensive driving programs and ongoing driver safety education tailored to Towne Park's transportation operations. Conducts on-site safety inspections and risk assessments at transportation locations to verify adherence to DOT and company safety policies and procedures. Supports accident investigations and partners with the Safety & Claims department on root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions. Reviews and maintains Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs) weekly for all DOT-regulated transportation sites; provides compliance metrics and ensures proper documentation retention. Partners with site-level leaders to promote safe vehicle operations and reinforce compliance with all applicable transportation safety standards. Provides training to operational personnel on DVIR processes, FMCSA requirements, defensive driving principles, and safe vehicle operation. Coordinates with Human Resources, Safety, and Compliance departments to monitor and audit transportation safety practices across all locations. Develops, maintains, and communicates transportation-related metrics, reports, and performance indicators to measure safety and operational success. Participates in the development and distribution of transportation safety training materials, communications, and company-wide safety initiatives. Qualifications
Education: Degree in a related field or comparable experience and/or training in Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and transportation safety practices, including defensive driving principles, accident prevention, and vehicle safety compliance. Work Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in a vehicle and/or employee support role (e.g., Human Resources), which included DOT experience, problem resolution, data warehousing, data archiving, safety monitoring, and incident follow-up. Exposure to a decentralized fleet operation with an understanding of safety risks and controls in varied transportation environments. Experience with DOT regulations, including those outlined in the Federal Motor Carrier Handbook for motor coach/buses, as well as practical application of safety protocols, inspection requirements, and corrective actions. Experience with communication devices, computers, and supporting word processing, spreadsheets, and database applications needed to validate safe and compliant fleet operations, conduct safety audits, and monitor driving behavior. Knowledge & Skills: Well-rounded knowledge of technology for various fleet management and DOT compliance systems, including safety-focused telematics platforms (e.g., Samsara), route optimization, vehicle tracking, and driver performance monitoring tools. Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all transportation site Account Managers as well as internal corporate functional partners (e.g., Background Screening Services, Human Resources, Safety & Claims, etc.).
