TE Connectivity's Material Handler Teams perform the physical and/or administrative tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, order fulfillment, storing and distributing of materials, parts, supplies and equipment. They unpack and check goods received against purchase orders or invoices, maintain records of received goods and reject unsatisfactory items. They lift heavy items and may operate a forklift. Material Handlers prepare and maintain records of shipments, post weights and shipping charges and prepare goods for final shipment. They examine, stock and distribute materials in inventory and on manufacturing lines and may prepare kitting packages for assembly production. What Your Background Should Look Like

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Reads, understands, and is able to apply all the applicable information contained in the job packet. Delivers and stages raw materials, components, and work in process to work centers. Maintains proper labeling and weights of raw materials. Delivers components and work in process to the Shipping department as needed. Participates in campus safety programs as required to include adhering to all EH&S policies and procedures. Participates in lean manufacturing activities on an as needed basis. Ensures proper cleanliness of equipment and immediate area in accordance with company housekeeping, safety, environmental, and TEOA guidelines. Performs other duties as needed or assigned. Perform tasks as specified per standard work for pull system. Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum of one-year related experience in materials handling and inventory control preferred. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisor, press operator, and fellow employees. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole number, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions and deal with press troubleshooting problems. Working knowledge of applicable computer software including Windows and Microsoft Office required. SAP experience is a plus. Ability to acquire TE Fork Lift Certification. Physical Demands: Stand, walk, talk, and hear. Walk through narrow aisles. Use hands to finger, handle, or feel. Reach with hands and arms. Stoop, kneel, or crouch. Frequently lift/move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift/move over 25lbs.
