Occupancy Planning Manager

What this job involves: As an Occupancy Planning Manager at JLL, you'll drive our client's global occupancy strategy and space management within their corporate workplace framework. Reporting to the Regional Occupancy Planning Director, you'll be responsible for leading a team of 4-5 occupancy planners while serving as the primary point of contact for occupancy planning initiatives across a specified AMER region. This strategic role requires you to translate complex business needs into effective space utilization strategies, develop migration plans, and optimize the client's real estate portfolio. By partnering closely with Portfolio Strategy and the client's Strategic Planning team, you'll ensure seamless integration of occupancy planning with relocation management, project management, and facilities management functions, ultimately delivering workspace solutions that enhance productivity and support business objectives. What your day-to-day will look like: Lead and develop a regional team of occupancy planners, managing all aspects of people development and performance. Analyze the client's portfolio to identify space optimization opportunities for all organizations within existing and committed properties. Develop scenario planning, stacking diagrams, and migration plans based on three-year headcount forecasts. Partner with Portfolio Strategy and real estate teams to address competing priorities and develop balanced solutions. Track and report projected versus actual headcount by organization while maintaining quarterly org-level space allocation plans. Analyze occupancy and attendance metrics to derive appropriate Desk Share Ratios (DSR) for each organization/team. Coordinate implementation scope and phasing schedules based on stacking plans and migration strategies. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Real Estate, Finance, Architecture, Design, Construction Management, or related field. Minimum 8-15 years of experience in a corporate real estate environment. Previous experience in space/occupancy planning at a strategic level. Proficiency in CAFM systems and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, V-Lookups, cell calculations, formulas). Strong ability to communicate planning strategies through presentations incorporating data and floor plans. Experience leading teams and managing complex stakeholder relationships. Availability to work in the client office at least 3 days per week with occasional travel. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with workplace strategy development and implementation. Knowledge of Bluebeam and other advanced planning software tools. Background in agile workplace program implementation. Experience analyzing badge data and utilization studies to inform planning recommendations. Strong project management skills with ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives.
