Friday Location: 9439 Forest City Cove Altamonte Springs, FL 32714 The role you'll contribute: The Employee Health Registered Nurse for the Employee Clinic collaborates closely with the Employee Clinic Manager, regional Employee Health Managers, Medical Directors, and both clinical and non-clinical staff across various healthcare facilities to deliver exemplary medical care to our clients. This role is pivotal in managing a broad spectrum of occupational health services, including but not limited to new hire physical assessments, immunizations, Tuberculin Skin Tests (TST), blood draws, surveillance of blood/body fluid exposures, medical illness/injury triage, basic first aid, mask fit testing, drug screens, and reviewing vaccination records and lab results. The Employee Health Registered Nurse plays a crucial role in maintaining a clean, orderly, and safe environment for employees and co-workers while adhering to all infection control policies and procedures set forth by the organization. Furthermore, this position is responsible for the provision and management of individualized, goal-directed nursing care through the application of the nursing process (assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating) and primary nursing principles. The Employee Health Registered Nurse also oversees Workers' Compensation claims, hospital surveillance programs, and regulatory compliance related to occupational health, ensuring adherence to state, federal, and organizational guidelines to guarantee quality care and patient safety. The role requires self-direction, effective nursing care to groups of patients, health teaching, counseling, administration of medication and treatments as prescribed by duly licensed practitioners, and the supervision and teaching of other personnel. The Employee Health Registered Nurse is instrumental in facilitating employee flow, actively participating in a wide variety of quality assurance processes, and regulatory compliance initiatives. This position demands outstanding customer service skills and the acceptance of responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. The ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, meet deadlines, and collaborate with a variety of individuals throughout the organization is essential. This role supports the occupational health program by providing surveillance, management, and record-keeping for work-related health aspects, including fitness for duty, infectious disease and exposures, work-related injury and illness, drug testing, and compliance with federal, state, and regulatory agency requirements. Works under standing orders from the Medical Director to perform various clinical duties. Maintains a working knowledge of various immunizations required for HCW's in a hospital setting, adhering to the policies and procedures set by AdventHealth. Performs collection and processes blood work according to AdventHealth protocols. Able to facilitate triage and transport of injured workers to closest Centra Care or AdventHealth facility. Knowledge of EMR system of record keeping for employee medical records. Performs daily EMR report checks for accurate data entry, scanning and charges. Performs proper and legible documentation for orders, procedures and assessments in accordance with department policy, from check in to check out. Able to facilitate processing employees from new hire to annual compliance. Able to accurately complete new hire screening process including but not limited to, measuring height, weight, blood pressure, vision and color screening, urine drug screen collection following proper chain of custody in accordance with 49 CFR Part 40 (40.33) Federal DOT Chain of Custody procedures. Conducts N-95 respirator fit testing in accordance with OSHA standadrds 29 CFR 1910.134 and AdventHealth policy and procedures. Appropriately relays discharge and follow up instructions/care to the employee utilizing approved after-care instruction tools. Participates in AdventHealth compliance initiatives and training as needed. Supports all Employee Health services such as return to work, Covid-19 employee line. Follows CDC isolation guidelines, infection control practices, demonstrates appropriate use of PPE, performs handwashing according to policy and enforces safety regulations. Supports quality standards and initiatives set by the department. Performs other duties as assigned or directed to ensure smooth clinic operation Qualifications The expertise and experience you'll need to succeed: Education and Experience Required: Associate's of Nursing Comprehensive knowledge of general nursing theory and practices.
