Industrial Maintenance Mechanic
withWestern States, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our machinery and equipment. You will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and repairing mechanical and electrical systems to minimize downtime and enhance operational efficiency.
We are seeking a self-motivated Maintenance Mechanic with previous experience in a production environment for our Sun Prairie Plant, just minutes from Madison. HOURLY RATE - 8 hour shift $25-$33/hr
SHIFTS AVAILABLE 1st shift 7:00am - 3:30pm, Mon - Fri Market Top Rate: Dependent on industry experience

WHAT DOES MY WORKDAY LOOK LIKE IN THIS ROLE? Troubleshoot, repair, and fabricate machinery in a timely, safe, and accurate manner while keeping the impact on production as minimal as possible. Perform skilled fitting and aligning as required using precision measuring instruments for exacting measurements. Maintain machines and support equipment for all departments including preventative maintenance. Work from drawings, specifications, and job layouts. Installation, assembly, movement, or disassembly of machinery. Inspects and measures parts to detect wear, misalignment, or other problems. Removes and replaces worn or defective parts of drive mechanism or hydraulic system. Find and order parts as needed. Perform duties as instructed for the following specific duties, but not limited to:
Welding Millwright Pneumatics Hydraulics Vacuum mechanical systems Plumbing repair or installation Metalworking duties Janitorial

QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Proven experience as a hands on industrial maintenance mechanic or in a similar role.
SUCCESSFUL PEOPLE IN THIS ROLE HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS Associate Degree OR equivalent from two-year college or technical school; OR a minimum of three years related experience and/or training; OR equivalent combination of education and experience. Expertmechanical ability, analysis and troubleshooting skills within a production and/or manufacturing environment. Capacity to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Capable to speak effectively with employees of the organization. Aptitude to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Proficiencyto readand interpret ruler measurements. Ability to walk and stand frequently during an eight-hour shift. Ability to move up to 50 lbs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTION Ability to stand for approximate duration of scheduled shift (minus paid breaks), lift up to 20 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. occasionally, repetitive grasping, frequent, twisting, lifting above shoulder height, occasional bend, reach, crouch, or stoop. Sensory requirements are tactile/touch with hands and digits, near and far visual acuity, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Reasoning, mechanical aptitude and mathematical skills for appropriate operations of the equipment.
