Queens-Long Island Renal Institute, located on the lobby level of the renowned Parker Jewish Institute for Healthcare and Rehabilitation in New Hyde Park, New York, is seeking Full Time Hemodialysis RNs to join our team of professionals. QLIRI provides state-of-the-art in-center hemodialysis treatment for kidney disease patients. Our experienced interdisciplinary team of nephrologists and renal nurses offer chronic dialysis services in a comfortable and modern setting. Located on the Queens-Nassau boarder, Queens-Long Island Renal Institute has a longstanding reputation for the finest quality of care, state-of-the-art technology and uncompromised dignity. Hemodialysis RNs at Queens Long Island Renal Institute are responsible for performing an age specific plan of care for a designated group of patients using the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care. They collaborate with physicians and other health team members in coordinating and implementing procedures and treatments and use leadership skills/clinical judgment in coordinating patient care and directing/delegating activities of the patient care unit team. KEY TASKS: Assess the patients physiologic health status Assess patients psychosocial health status Identify patient outcome Formulate the plan of care and establish the priorities necessary to achieve expected outcome Implement the plan of care Evaluate care provided for patient outcome Collaborate with other care team members in planning and carrying out treatment regimen Provides direction to other members of the care team Administer medications correctly and safely Participate in patient and family education The ideal candidate will have an RN license in NYS and will be a graduate from an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred.) Additionally, the ideal candidate will have active BCLS (ACLS preferred) and at least one year of recent experience in a chronic dialysis setting.
