Director Of Systems Control

GLWA Water Operations Systems Control Center is seeking a Director of Systems Control who will be responsible for the efficient operations of the Process Control Center, Pumping Stations, Conveyance System and related equipment. The role includes the management of a team for maintaining the operation of the control system to ensure proper distribution of water to Member Partners and conveyance of water within the service area. The director is responsible for the coordination with facility/Plant Operations, Engineering, and other stakeholders to ensure Operating parameters Directs participation in designing, implementing, managing, documenting, and supporting Great Lakes Water Authority (GLWA) strategic plans. Job Responsibilities: Oversee the design, implementation, and operation of facility and functional units. Develop strategies and plans for the expansion, improvement, and upgrade of operational units and needs operational optimization. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to establish reliable data communication and interoperability. Implement and maintain robust process operation and efficiency measures. Provide technical expertise and support to operational teams utilizing the SCADA system. Direct troubleshooting system issues, optimizing system performance, and coordinating with vendors or external partners for maintenance and support services. Monitor real-time data and performance metrics generated by the SCADA system to identify operational inefficiencies, anomalies, or potential issues by analyzing data trends and patterns to optimize system performance, enhance operational decision-making, process optimizations, and implement predictive maintenance strategies. Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance the efficiency, reliability, and functionality of the operation. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, such as operations, engineering, maintenance, Informational technology teams, to align infrastructure with organizational goals and objectives. Identify, develop, and maintain backup policies/procedures/equipment that allows for the restoration of the system in the event of a operational/catastrophic failure. Required Education and Experience: At the time of application, applicant must: Bachelor's degree in engineering, chemistry, business administration, public administration or related discipline; AND

A minimum of five (5) years of recent and progressive managerial and administrative experience, including staffing, budgeting, project management, and operational experience in a specialty designation, preferably in connection with large-scale public or private operations. Preferred Education and Experience: Master's degree from an accredited college in information technology, computer science, engineering, or related area Certifications that are related to Water Distribution, Treatment or wastewater operations Other Requirements: A valid Driver's License and the ability to drive a motor vehicle on all terrain Ability to work irregular hours, to commute to GLWA facilities and work sites Follow security and safety policies and procedures in carrying out work duties Job is on-site with limited approved hybrid opportunities Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package effective the first of the month following 30 days of employment.
