Planning & Scheduling Analyst
On Site Dearborn, Michigan, United States Full time The Planning / Scheduling Analyst is responsible for developing and maintaining the upcoming for all VEV workflow units through the prototype vehicle build site - focusing on all Build instrumentation, Post Build instrumentation, TDM, outside support and Fit 4 Test. This person would be embedded within the team reporting to leadership to create and maintain timelines for each unit - identifying part delivery dates, hold times, instrumentation start, instrumentation completion, number of techs and other factors which impact timing. This person would work with the entire team to coordinate the overall workplan for each upcoming unit, getting dates for vehicle deliveries, part deliveries and engaging and holding requestors accountable for timing. This role will identify workload to work capacity bottlenecks and raise constraint/timing issues for the broader team to work to resolve. This person would be the central person who can enable the entire team to identify problem areas so that we can resolve bottlenecks early and communicate timing daily and as needed for the entire operation. Responsibilities: Create and maintain a consolidated workplan from the various inputs. Work with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and improve overall performance Keep metrics for meeting timing (instrumentation start, instrumentation complete). Keep metrics on number of techs working each unit and timing achieved. Support the team in through put metrics for the plan. Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains Analyze performance data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement Support the implementation of new technologies and processes Participate in various quality audits and reviews Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in business or a related discipline Automotive Test Engineering experience preferred Excellent oral and written communication skills Exceptional leadership & collaboration skills, able to work with multiple people and manage a variety of projects simultaneously People Skills are a key attribute required for this role Methodical and organized and able to keep good, detailed records; ability to identify information that should be tracked to provide backup to support conversations with clients Ability to work with people but willing to stand your ground and ensure the laboratory issues get timely attention; willing to elevate difficult issues as soon as they arise Ability to work independently and in a team environment, taking direction from multiple sources as needed Ability to communicate and interact well with others Expert user of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, and Project) and ability to work with Macros Unusual or Special Physical Requirements of Position (specify and provide % of time required): Lifting: Up to 50 lbs, 25% Climbing: NA Crawling: NA Special clothing/equipment (wearing): Slip resistant hardened toe shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection in designated areas, 100% Unusual physical requirements: Sitting (75%), Standing (50%), Bending (25%), stooping (25%) High noise level: Exposure to high noise areas possible in test facility, 25% Description of Work Environment (specify and provide % of time required): Inside?
