This job provides quality care to patients and families to promote health and prevent disease under the direction of a registered nurse or physician. Essential responsibilities include: Performing general nursing care in accordance with nursing practice standards. Assisting with the preparation of equipment and assisting the physician/clinical provider during treatment, examination, and testing of patients. Collecting assessment data, preparing patients for examination, and documenting clinical information on patient records. Ordering diagnostic tests as directed by a registered nurse or physician/clinical provider and gathering diagnostic tests and/or examining results prior to physician/clinical provider assessment. Scheduling procedures and obtaining authorizations as necessary. May give injections or medication, collect blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens, and prepare them for testing. Performing other duties as assigned or required. Qualifications include: High school diploma/GED or equivalent. Current state licensure as an LPN or current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC). CPR
American Heart Association. Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate. Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate. Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate. Preferred qualifications include: 1 year healthcare experience. State approved IV course certification. Knowledge of OASIS documentation and assessment process. PALS or ACLS may be required based on the specific area of practice.
