Clinical Documentation Manager
Manage the daily operations of the clinical documentation area. Manage and provide education regarding the clinical documentation process. Conduct hiring, training, management, development and evaluating of staff. Collaborate with members of the healthcare team to identify improvement opportunities and develop solutions. Track and ensure program compliance. Gather, identify and utilize data to support strategic development and improvement activities related to case mix index, MS DRG and value-based purchasing reimbursement, and quality/outcomes and compliance requirements. Manage the review of physician documentation to support a patient's level of care and appropriate assignation of Diagnosis Related Groups (DRGs), and develops action plans for improvement. Licensure / Certification / Registration: One or more of the following required: Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) credentialed from the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Certified Professional Coder (CPC) credentialed from the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Clinical Documentation Prof. credentialed from the Association of Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialists obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Reg Health Info Admnstr credentialed from the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Reg Health Info Tech credentialed from the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
