Maintenance Technician - INTRUST Bank Arena

Part-time $20 Per Hour
Under general direction, responsible for preventative maintenance, necessary maintenance, and repairs to the buildings mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems. Must be familiar with automated building management systems and have a working knowledge of all building mechanical, electrical, HVAC, boiler plant, Trane chiller plant, Cimco ice plant, plumbing, life safety, fire protection and suppression systems to ensure proper operations and be able to act upon any conditions that are out of the ordinary. Responsibilities include: Preventative maintenance on the mechanical, electrical, HVAC, boiler plant, chiller plant, ice plant equipment, and plumbing systems. Monitor operation of the HVAC systems, noting current status, identifying potential problems, and taking corrective action where appropriate. Assist in the development and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures. Work with outside contractors when required. Submit completed work orders on time. Perform repairs and maintenance tasks such as re-lamping, replacing ceiling tiles, filters, and belts as required. Read and interpret performance charts and control panels to evaluate the efficiency of each system. Be familiar with and conform to all written operating procedures associated with the site. Respond to routine, precautionary, and emergency alarms from building automation and life safety systems. Run facility's environmental controls, emergency power, electrical, HVAC, and lighting systems as required for the safe and efficient operation. Maintain an adequate inventory of spare parts and supplies, prepare requisition forms for purchases, and pick up supplies and materials from vendors. Adhere to OSHA, NFPA, and other applicable safety codes. Regular attendance is an essential job function. Position requires the ability to work at all ASM Global venues in Wichita and Andover. Other duties as assigned. Duties include: Maintain and repair all buildings mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems. Operate equipment such as light trucks, pallet jacks, forklifts, scrubbing machines, or other light power-driven equipment. Operate monitoring controls and personal computer (light use) using Windows and Microsoft Office software. Operate standard office equipment including copier and fax machine. Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form. Organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines. Work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedule and procedure accurate results. Maintain an effective working relationship with clients, employees, exhibitors, patrons, and others encountered in the course of employment. Performs other related duties as assigned by Manager. Qualifications include: 3-5 years hands-on experience. Electrical/Mechanical experience preferred. Excellent organization skills. Ability to prioritize and to handle multiple projects simultaneously. Good written, verbal, and interpersonal skills required; ability to interact with all levels of staff including management. Professional presentation, appearance, work ethic. Ability to understand the theory and operation of heavy equipment such as chillers, boilers, generators, electrical switchgear, pumps, fans, and air handling equipment that is integral to this building. Understand the operation of the building automation and life safety systems as appropriate. Interpret mechanical, electrical, and plumbing drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, specifications, and manufacturers information. Be familiar with operational procedures, facility capabilities, industry terminology, event-related services, and technical requirements for the types of events anticipated at the facility. Customer service oriented. Be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Be licensed and insured to operate a motor vehicle in the United States. Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or GED. Refrigeration Handlers Certification preferred. Ability to handle multiple projects and make decisions. Proficient computer and email skills. Possess any licenses, certificates, or training required by local, state, or national authorities for the operation of the equipment found in the facility. Must be able to work within a team and independently with little or no supervision. Technical support school or advanced electrical or refrigeration helpful, journeyman preferred. Skills and Abilities: Positive, customer service-oriented attitude at all times. Know general techniques in plumbing, electrical wiring, and ventilating systems to be able to assist the HVAC and Electrical technicians as needed. Have a basic understanding of door hardware, locks, key machine, door closers, etc. Ability to undertake and complete multiple tasks. Attention to detail. Other: Requires ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, in addition to normal business hours. Physical Demands: This position requires ability to get in and around the facility (requires personal mobility), lifting, carrying, moving, climbing, working from various heights, and with moderate to blaring noises. Must be able to read reports and use computer, standing/walking, climbing/stooping/kneeling. Ability to lift up to 45 lbs, pulling/pushing/fingering/grasping/feeling, must be able to write type and use phone and cell phone. Outdoor work required within seasonal temperatures, may be exposed to extreme heat or cold. Promote a safe working environment for all employees by following the life safety and emergency program as needed. May occasionally have to enter areas where fumes, airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals are present.
