AVP, Retail Investment Specialist - Alternative Investments

Lincoln Financials Client Investment Strategies (CIS) team acts as a source of specialized investment knowledge that delivers analysis, education and thought leadership to internal and external clients. Within CIS, the AVP, Retail Investment Specialist works closely with Alternative Investment Sales Specialists to support sales efforts and growth goals in alternative investments. They will also serve as a subject matter expert for internal and external audiences on Lincoln's private market funds, our competition, capital markets and asset allocation trends. This is a new role that will be instrumental in establishing best practices for optimally supporting the growth of our private market funds business, a key area of strategic growth for the firm. This individual will leverage their alternative investments expertise and experience in supporting alternatives distribution teams to develop and implement critical processes aimed at driving awareness and adoption of Lincoln's alternatives solutions among wealth management advisors. This role will be highly visible, and the right candidate will be confident and comfortable having complex investment discussions with stakeholders with varying levels of investment expertise. This role will report to SVP, Head of Client Investment Strategies. What You'll Be Doing

Private Markets Investment Support: Be the subject matter expert for private market funds product set. Approach the role as a business owner, focused on utilizing your knowledge and expertise and leveraging the skills of others to exponentially grow the funds. Develop a close partnership with subadvisory investment teams, funds management due diligence team, and alternatives portfolio managers to deepen knowledge and expertise of fund strategies. Respond to requests from internal or external stakeholders for robust, customized fund or portfolio level analyses. Types of requests include, but are not limited to, returns and holdings-based analysis, return attribution and portfolio optimization. Develop a deep understanding of the competitive landscape and own the ongoing competitive positioning of investment suite. Build and maintain strong relationships with distribution partners, including being a key participant in ongoing training discussions. Collaborate with business partners to develop and maintain core product materials, training materials, and sales ideas. Craft impactful messaging to support sales efforts of assigned funds, tying back the "why now?" story to current market environment. Leverage asset management partner expertise. Participate in external client meetings, investment reviews, and events, as needed. Responding to distribution/key accounts requests. Provide support for retirement business including conducting investment reviews with existing clients including financial advisors and investment consultants, as needed. What We're Looking For

Must-Haves A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics or related field. 10+ years minimum relevant work experience, ideally in either an investment management or investment specialist/product strategist/client portfolio manager role for alternative investments. A passion for financial markets. CFA/CAIA designation(s), or willingness to pursue preferred. Strong team player with the ability to collaborate to drive results. Extensive knowledge of the asset management industry and retail distribution best practices. Excellent writing, communication and group presentation skills. Creative thinking. Strong proficiency with PowerPoint and Excel required, including experience using MS Office software to produce high quality presentations. Familiarity with Pitchbook, Prequin, Morningstar and Salesforce preferred. Pay is based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln's total rewards package for employees. In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual.
