All positions require that the applicant be a resident of Wyandotte County or willing to relocate within 12 months from the date of hire. As a condition of employment all employees must pass a post offer physical examination and drug screen. And submit proof of identity and employment eligibility. Brief Job Description : The successful applicant will work directly with other personnel assigned to the unit, assisting, advising, and directing them as needed as well as performing the duties of the Logistics Officer, as needed. The primary function is to direct and actively engage in the receipt and storage of evidence, confiscated property, and found property. Responsibilities include: insuring that all Federal, State, and Local laws are upheld, that all related standards required by CALEA are met, that the departments rules and regulations are adhered to in the processing and maintenance of the property function; collecting monthly statistics relating to the number of items, received, released and destroyed; preparing and providing for delivery of items to the auction site; reviewing court records to determine case dispositions, assuring that evidence is no longer needed prior to release or destruction, maintaining records on all confiscated and recovered property, providing expert testimony regarding the integrity of the unit, its operation and personnel, during municipal, state and federal proceedings where confiscated and recovered property are involved; operation and maintenance of the units alarm system; the receipt and dispersal of uniforms and equipment, ordering, storing, and issuing supplies, report forms and other items; maintenance and repair of portable radios; and other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in a related field and five years of increasingly related program experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job as outlined above. Must attend and pass any property room seminar/training and any semi-annual or annual qualifications. Successful applicant will also be required to attend and successfully pass classes that ensure the safe handling of drugs, weapons and other potentially hazardous devices. Must reside in Wyandotte County or be willing to relocate within 12 months. Valid Kansas Drivers License required.
