Registered Nurse - Operating Room 48 hrs. Biweekly - Rotating Shifts The OR provides services 24/7/365 and uses state of the art equipment to provide diagnostic, therapeutic and surgical services. Our skilled team of healthcare professionals work together to provide a wide variety of cases to our community. We are looking for motivated, smart and experienced Operating Room professionals to join our team! We offer the following procedures: Neurosurgery, Robotics, General, Bariatrics, OB/GYN, ENT/EYES, Orthopedics, Trauma, Urology, Podiatry, Dental, Cath lab, Pain Services, Endoscopy. we see close to 75,000 patients in our ED every year Meritus also has the county's only after-hours emergency psychiatric on-site crisis assessment team as part of the Emergency Department Our Critical Care Unit has been awarded the Silver Beacon of Excellence from the American Association of Critical Care Nurses Certified since 2007 as a Primary Stroke Center by the Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Services We have a Level II Special Care Nursery and nearly 2,000 babies are born each year in our Family Birthing Center Silver Quality Achievement Award from the American Heart Association for STEMI patients One of only 3,000 facilities in the world to have an age-friendly designation, Level III Geriatric Emergency Department Accreditation Meritus Medical Center has 2 types of surgical robots- the daVinci Xi and the ROSA. Our surgeons utilize these devices to assist surgery in 6 specialty areas. Minimum Qualifications: Education - ASN required. BSN Preferred. Previously grandfathered active RN's who graduated from an accredited nursing school as a Diploma RN will continue to have ASN requirement waived. Experience - Minimum of one year of experience in a hospital setting required. Licensure/Certification - Specialty certification recognized by the Magnet Recognition Program preferred. Current license to practice as Registered Nurse in the State of Maryland, or if resident of a state that participates in Nurse Multi-State Compact agreement, holds Registered Nurse License from that state that is designated as "Compact" or "Multi-State Privilege" using primary source verification and provides additional documentation as required by the Maryland Board of Nursing. RN License from a compact state with a designation of "Single State" does not meet the requirement and nurse must obtain a Maryland license. Specialty certification preferred. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities - Ability to apply the standards of professional nursing practice with compassion and empathy. Basic computer skills required. Must possess high level of organization and communication skills.
