The locations within this region include: Abington Memorial Hospital Jefferson Landsdale Hospital Einstein Montgomery Hospital Jefferson Northeast Hospital locations (Bucks, Torresdale, Frankford) Under the supervision of a radiologist, the MRI Technologist performs a variety of magnetic resonance imaging procedures and scanners to produce detailed tissue images for medical diagnosis. Prepares pertinent information for physician and care team's review, and delivers patient care and education before, during and after diagnostic imaging procedures. Essential functions include: Interacting with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson. Processing and evaluating the technical quality of images, such as density contrast, definition and distortion. Maintaining critical positioning of the patient and equipment during the flow of the contrast media to ensure safety of the patient and success of examination results. Instructing patients on body positioning procedures during MRI exams and testing; demonstrating effective communications with all patients by explaining the MRI procedure both before and after scanning and answering all patient questions. Determining equipment requirements for procedures based on the physician's tentative diagnoses, and scout films necessary for physician's preliminary viewing. Maintaining MRI equipment by performing scheduled cleaning, testing and documenting results; notifying supervision of malfunctioning equipment. Implementing MRI safety guidelines and conducting proper MRI safety during the imaging process. Performing other related technologist duties as directed by the lead technologist, supervisor or manager, including those related to quality assurance and/or control. Other duties as assigned. Competencies (knowledge, skills, and abilities required) include: Knowledge of radiography tools, techniques and applications, ability to utilize imaging technology on patients for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes. Knowledge of and ability to prepare patients for diagnostic/radiological imaging and to monitor patients' reactions during and after a procedure. Responds to emergent situations by applying appropriate measures. Minimum education and experience requirements include: Graduate of an approved American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) program. 6 months to 1 year experience preferred. Minimum certifications, registration or license requirements include: Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification. Active MRI Certification. License as required by state.
