Planner/Estimator II
The city of Virginia Beach is in search of a Planner/Estimator II within the Street Maintenance division of Public Works. The Planner/Estimator II will investigate maintenance issues within the city's roadways, concrete, and right-of-way. This position reports directly to the Planner/Estimator III in Public Works Operations. Planner/Estimator II duties also include: Receive and review work requests from the Customer Service Bureau & Salesforce work management system Conduct site investigations and follow-up visits Determine feasibility, technical solution, priority, and resource requirements for complex infrastructure maintenance and construction issues Coordinate with superintendents of respective Public Works/Operations bureaus to prepare initial work orders Communication with citizens and other requesting services to provide project scope and scheduling for the more complex operations/maintenance associated requests ***This is an Alpha I and is required to work in excess of their normally scheduled days/hours during all inclement weather (flooding, hurricanes, and snow), and/or in response to shortterm department needs and/or Citywide emergencies. ***
