Distribution Field Technician

Conduct visual inspections of overhead and underground electrical distribution equipment. Compile field data, prepare minor work orders, and maintain detailed reports. Measure and map out Low Voltage Distribution (LVD) systems. Identify and record electrical equipment on poles. Perform system inventories, audits, joint use management, permitting, pad-mount inspections, ground-line pole inspections, metering and apparatus services, lighting audits, and more. Utilize laptops, tablets, GPS, and other electronic devices for field data collection. Develop a working knowledge of National Electrical Safety Code (NESC), electric utility construction standards, and communication facilities. Operate equipment like height sticks and range finders to take accurate measurements. Perform pole inspections and maintenance on pad-mount equipment. Achieve weekly billable goals as defined by project guidelines. High school diploma required; Associate degree preferred. Ability to work with customers, landowners, and clientele to facilitate power utility asset replacements, upgrades, and joint-use make-ready construction. Ability to perform various tasks to ensure timely data delivery, including pre-field work, design analysis, and fieldwork. Preferred experience in field data collection, data analysis, utility locating, overhead lines, pole analysis, LVD, and distribution design. Familiarity with NESC is a plus. The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
