Locums - Physician Assistant (Cardiothoracic Surgery) - Atlantic City, NJUrgent Need 3 Openings NJ License Required Availability & Coverage
  • Start Date: October 9, 2025
  • Duration: ASAP - October 2
  • Urgency: Replacing 3 PAs leaving in September - Immediate need
  • Practice Setting: Inpatient / Hospital-based
  • Trauma Level: Not designated
  • Licensing: New Jersey license required at time of submission - Cannot wait for licensing
Schedule
  • Weekdays: Monday-Friday, 8-10-hour in-house shifts
  • Nights: 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM
  • Weekends:
    • Start: Friday at 6:00 PM
    • End: Monday at 6:00 AM
    • Includes call and rounding 7:00 AM - 12:00 PM (Sat & Sun)
  • Varied shift coverage needed: Weekday, weekend, and night call
Clinical Details
  • Average Patient Load:
    • 2 surgeries/day
    • Round on 5-12 patients/day (ICU + floor), includes consults
  • EMR: Cerner
  • Procedures Required:
    • Endoscopic Vein Harvesting (EVH)
    • Retrieval of vascular tissues for bypass
    • Chest tube insertions
    • First assist in cardiac surgery
Responsibilities
  • Surgical first assist
  • Rounding and coordination of care
  • Diagnosing and treating illnesses
  • Ordering and interpreting tests
  • Writing prescriptions
  • Suture removal
Requirements
  • NCCPA Certification - Required
  • Active NJ License - Required
  • Experience:
    • 2-3 years minimum
    • Must be proficient in Endoscopic Vein Harvesting (EVH) and first assist
  • EMR Experience: Cerner preferred
