nStarting Salary Range: $135,000.00 - $145,000.00 - position is also eligible for an annual bonus if individual performance and company objectives are met. In addition to base salary, you will also receive 7.5% shift differential.
nAs our Senior Power System Operations Engineer , you will be part of MISO’s Real Time Operations group…where the “rubber meets the road.” Our operators and engineers work collaboratively to make complex and quick decisions. This team coordinates the use of the transmission system by ensuring flows stay within prescribed limits and partners with transmission operators and neighboring reliability coordinators to maintain reliability.
nYou will also be responsible for maintaining the accuracy and availability of one of the most important Energy Management Systems (EMS) in the Eastern Interconnection. You will monitor inputs from ICCP, SCADA into the State Estimator. You will ensure accurate contingency analysis study results. You will provide study results that assist in making MISO the most reliable, value-creating RTO. You will have the opportunity to participate in projects that lead the way for the operations of the future.
nIn one year as our Senior Power System Operations Engineer, you will know you were successful if you understand the MISO footprint, are able to handle complex EMS issues, are able to speak into processes, and have established relationships with operators and external/internal stakeholders.
nWe are looking for hardworking engineers who have:

At least 5 years of experience in Utility, transmission operations, real-time operations, or a related field

Previous Energy Management System (EMS) experience
n n - n
At least a Bachelor’s degree in any of the following:

Electrical Engineering
nComputer Engineering
nElectrical Engineering Technology
nElectrical and Computer Engineering
nElectrical and Electronic Engineering
nElectronics and Computer Engineering Technology

- The ability and willingness to work a 12-hour rotating shift schedule n
We would also prefer engineers with the following:

Transient/Voltage stability experience
n n - n
Programming Experience in C, C++, VBA, Perl, Python
n n
Appropriate level will be determined based upon experience and knowledge.
