Storehouse Voices is a publishing imprint within the Crown Publishing Group, created in partnership with Storehouse In A Box, combining traditional publishing with innovative, community-driven content discovery, ensuring that powerful, culturally resonant stories reach the audiences who need them most. Through strategic partnerships and direct-to-consumer platform engagement, Storehouse Voices is redefining how books connect with readers.
Storehouse Voices is seeking a Publicity Manager to create, oversee, and execute strategies for author promotions (including tours, reviews, media coverage, and long-lead pitching) for a rapidly growing list of fiction and nonfiction works. Reporting to the Associate Publisher, this person will work closely with our authors and their agents, as well as our publishing, editorial, and marketing teams, and Penguin Random House's corporate sales and communications colleagues. Additionally, the Publicity Manager will cultivate relationships with readers and influencers and work closely with booksellers and external partners to identify promotional opportunities for books across the Storehouse Voices catalog.
This ideal candidate is a creative storyteller, skilled communicator, and strategic thinker with deep connections across the media landscape and experience securing national and culturally resonant media visibility for a range of storytellers.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement innovative campaigns to promote 10 - 15 titles per year that capture interest across various channels, including traditional media, as well as digital and social media
  • Collaborate with Storehouse Voices lead team on imprint branding and positioning strategies and liaise with stakeholders across Penguin Random House on cross-divisional opportunities
  • Design and curate book launch events, author tours, and other promotional activities where multiple Storehouse Voices authors can be present
  • Brainstorm comprehensive publicity campaigns to secure media coverage for our titles and authors in print, broadcast, and online outlets
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key media contacts, including book reviewers, journalists, bloggers, and influencers
  • Pitch and secure media interviews, features, reviews, and other coverage for our authors and titles.
  • Write and distribute press releases, media kits, and other publicity materials
  • Secure national and regional TV, print, radio and online feature and review coverage for our authors.
  • Plan and organize long-lead pitching to national contacts as well as book clubs (Oprah, Reese, GMA, and Read With Jenna/Today Show).
  • Plan and book extensive national multi-city book tours, with events in bookstores, libraries, community-reads programs, and other large speaking venues.
  • Prepare title campaign budgets and track seasonal expense projections.
  • Collaborate closely with hardcover and trade paperback originals imprint colleagues on long-term strategies for the group's major authors, brands and series.
  • Coach and prep talent for public presentations and media interviews.
  • Accompany authors to media interviews and events.
  • Monitor media coverage and compile press clippings and reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide guidance on content to Storehouse Voices' community manager, supporting a consistent and engaging presence that aligns with the brand's voice and identity
  • Surface anniversaries, holidays, book and author news for posts
  • Initiate requests for acquisitions analysis, momentum reports, audience deep dives
  • Review reports to ensure insights are reflected in new and ongoing campaigns
  • Review engagement, influencer requests, post performances to drive future strategy

Qualifications:.
  • 5+ years of experience in book publishing, marketing, or publicity, preferably within the adult trade market.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful promotional campaigns.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing, social media platforms, and emerging trends.
  • Familiarity with influencer marketing, partnerships, and online engagement strategies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Creative thinker with the ability to generate new ideas and approaches.

  • Passion for books and a deep understanding of the publishing industry.

This is a hybrid position that will require coming into the New York city office 2-3 days a week. We will consider candidates who can work from a commutable distance to our offices at 1745 Broadway, which includes the tri-state area (NJ, CT, & PA).
The salary for this position is $76,500-$80,000. All positions are currently eligible for annual profit award or bonus, subject to Company results.
