We are seeking a qualified Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO) to lead the safety program on-site on an active project. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in federal or government construction environments and will be responsible for implementing and monitoring all aspects of the site-specific safety and health plan to ensure compliance with project requirements, EM 385-1-1, OSHA standards, and company safety protocols.
nKey Responsibilities

- Serve as the primary safety authority on-site for all matters relating to health and safety. n
- Implement, maintain, and enforce the site-specific Accident Prevention Plan (APP). n
- Conduct daily safety inspections and prepare safety reports. n
- Lead daily safety briefings and weekly toolbox talks. n
- Identify and mitigate potential hazards and ensure immediate corrective actions are taken. n
- Maintain all required safety documentation, including logs, certifications, and training records. n
- Interface with clients, government representatives, and subcontractors to ensure safety compliance. n
- Investigate incidents/near misses and complete follow-up reports and root cause analysis. n
- Ensure ongoing compliance with EM 385-1-1 and project-specific safety standards. n
Minimum Qualifications
n- n
- 5+ years of experience as a SSHO on medium to large-scale construction projects . n
- Current OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification . n
- Valid First Aid / CPR Certification . n
- EM 385-1-1 Certification , including thorough working knowledge of EM 385-1-1 safety requirements. n
- Strong communication and organizational skills. n
- Ability to lead by example and influence a culture of safety. n
Qualifications
n- n
- Experience working on U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), NAVFAC, or other federal agency projects. n
- Additional safety certifications (e.g., CHST, CSP, or equivalent). n
- Familiarity with accident investigation procedures and reporting. n
Pay Rate
n- n
- Minimum $35/hr - Maximum $45/hr based on experience. n
