Job Summary: This position provides support with the intake and processing of patients presenting for care, and other relative activities.
(This is a full-time position that will support our Pineville office, Monday to Friday 8 am to 5 pm)
Primary Job Responsibilities/Tasks may include, but not limited to: n
- n
- Schedule appointments in athenaNet. n
- Prepare new patient charts and/or paperwork at patient presentation. n
- Greet patients and visitors in a professional and welcoming manner. Communicate with patient during visit as necessary. n
- Accurately perform registration process. n
- Ensure all requirements and fields are satisfied and complete. n
- Ensure patient is registered and educated on patient portal usage; distribute marketing materials as necessary. n
- Collect co-payments, outstanding balances, pre-payments, payment plans at Check-In according to organizational financial policies, provide receipt of payment. n
- Create Credit Card on File Contracts at Check-In. n
- Collect deductible, co-insurance, and payment for services not covered by insurance at Check-Out. n
- Work “Day End Review” report. n
- Answers inbound and/or makes outbound telephone calls as assigned and appropriately directs callers. n
- Schedule follow-up appointments. n
- Reconcile, balance, and close batches daily. n
- Accurately record messages. n
- Educate patients accurately and completely including utilizing the Patient Portal. n
- Document appropriately within athenaNet to ensure regulatory requirements are met. n
- Monitor and check assigned Athena boxes and other assigned boxes for coverage. n
- Work at different Tryon office locations as needed. n
- For upcoming appointments without insurance on file or have Medicaid attempt to call patient two days prior in order to collect and verify insurance. n
- Verify eligibility and benefits for all patients daily. n
- Other duties as assigned. n
Requirements: n
- n
- Completion of Hepatitis B Vaccine and Flu Vaccine Form will be required. Candidate may decline vaccination through declination form or may provide record of vaccination from previous employer. n
- Completion of TB test will be required. n
Education: n
- n
- High school diploma; some college n
Experience: n
- n
- Minimum of one-year medical office or healthcare facility experience. n
- E.H.R. and Scheduling experience. n
- Experience serving customers in person and on the phone n
Physical Requirements: n
- n
- Work consistently requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling. n
- Must be able to lift and support weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, equipment and supplies. n
- Dexterity in hands and fingers. n
- Ability to quickly respond to changing conditions and situations. n
- Ability to concentrate on details. n
