Job Title: PLC Electrical Engineer / Control Engineer

Job Summary:
nWe are looking for a PLC Electrical Engineer / Control Engineer with 3–5 years of industry experience to join our engineering team in Schaumburg, IL. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in control systems design, PLC programming, and electrical integration for industrial automation and machinery. This role requires a hands-on engineer with both technical expertise and the ability to collaborate across departments to deliver high-quality, customized automation solutions.
nnKey Responsibilities:

- Design, develop, and maintain electrical control systems and panel layouts for automated machinery and equipment n
- Develop and implement PLC programs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or equivalent) and HMI interfaces n
- Create detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and bill of materials (BOMs) using AutoCAD or SolidWorks Electrical n
- Conduct hands-on work including wiring, panel assembly, system testing, and commissioning of machines n
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers, software developers, and production teams to ensure seamless system integration n
- Perform electrical troubleshooting and provide support during machine builds and customer acceptance testing n
- Ensure compliance with NEC, NESC, and internal standards for safety and design n
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts in system design, automation, and manufacturing processes n
Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline n
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience in control system design, PLC programming, and automation n
- Proficient with AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical, or similar tools n
- Strong working knowledge of PLC programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens) and relay-based control logic n
- Experience with HMI development and industrial communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, etc.) n
- Familiarity with NEC/NESC standards, UL panel design, and safety systems n
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for both hardware and software issues n
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment n
Qualifications:

- Experience in custom machinery, CNC machine tools, or industrial automation n
- Understanding of motion control systems, VFDs, and safety interlocks n
- Familiarity with robotic integration or SCADA systems is a plus n
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and vendors n
