Position Summary:
The Test Engineering Manager is responsible for leading the team responsible for the development, automation, and execution of complex RF test strategies to support new product introductions (NPI), high-volume manufacturing, and customer validation.
The Test Engineering Manager must have deep expertise in RF Power Amplifier and MMIC (Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuit) testing and requires hands-on experience with advanced test equipment, including the Keysight PNAX (PNA-X) network analyzer, OpenTAP automation platform, and scripting proficiency in Python.
Salary Range: $175,000 - $195,000 per year

Job Function:
- Lead and mentor a team of RF test engineers responsible for MMIC and RF PA testing across R&D and production.
- Develop and maintain automated test systems for RF characterization and validation.
- Design, implement, and optimize test plans using Keysight PNAX, spectrum analyzers, power meters, and signal generators.
- Continuously update, optimize and track the work in process view (WIP) of the test engineering team's activities.
- Build scalable and reusable OpenTAP or other software test sequences integrated with Python scripting for automation and data analysis.
- Collaborate closely with design, product, and process engineering teams to define test requirements, KPIs, and yield targets.
- Drive root cause analysis for test failures and lead corrective action implementation.
- Interface with global manufacturing and test partners to ensure consistency and reliability of test processes.
- Analyze large datasets to extract performance trends, identify outliers, and support product improvement initiatives.
- Define and enforce test engineering best practices, documentation standards, and test infrastructure strategies.
- Own continuous improvement initiatives to reduce test time, increase test coverage, and improve first-pass yield.
- Ability to perform quick, efficient RF testing without automation when required for immediate results and assessment on path forward with design team.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- 5+ years of hands-on RF test experience, with 3+ years in a technical management or lead role.
- Deep understanding of RF PA and MMIC device behavior, s-parameters, load-pull, gain compression, linearity, etc.
- Expertise in using Keysight PNAX (PNA-X), RF instrumentation and other general lab test equipment.
- Experience building and deploying automated test systems using OpenTAP and Python scripting.
- Familiarity with test fixture design, impedance matching, de-embedding, and calibration techniques.
- Strong understanding of RF lab practices, ESD protocols, and data analysis techniques (e.g., using Python, MATLAB, or JMP).
- Excellent communication and leadership skills; ability to drive cross-functional collaboration.
- Good understanding of RF and Microwave test equipment such as PNA-X, Vector Network Analyzers, Power Meters, Spectrum Analyzers, Noise Meters, including calibration methodologies, Cal-set manipulation and advanced measurements.
- Strong communication verbal and written skills to work in a CFT environment.
- Highly self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership to drive high level tasks to completion.
- Work in a fast-paced environment with fluid priorities and an emphasis on urgency.
- Experience in high-volume manufacturing test support.
- Knowledge of GaAs/GaN MMIC technologies and semiconductor packaging.
- Familiarity with LabVIEW, VISA libraries, or other test automation environments.
- Prior experience working with ATE platforms or custom RF test stations.
- Experience with data management platforms, version control (e.g., Git), and test result dashboards.
