Credit Recovery Monitor
Terms of Employment
Full time position - 187 days (number of days will be prorated if start date is after August 4, 2025) 8 hours per day. Pay per Classified Salary Schedule - Category I ($18.79 - $28.65). This position will also receive a stipend for instructional support. (A substitute license is required)
This position qualifies for benefits. The District provides its employees with a comprehensive benefits program including medical, life, and dental insurance. The District provides two medical plans for which it pays the full premium for employees, and a fourth option is a buy-up plan for which the district pays the majority of the premium. In addition, the District pays the full employee premium for dental insurance and life insurance. The District contributes to PERA on each employee's behalf and offers additional retirement savings options as well as optional supplemental insurance. Employees also receive paid time off. Worker's compensation and unemployment insurance are provided in accordance with State law. This position qualifies for paid leave: 4 annual leave days and 7 sick leave days (leave days will be prorated if start date is after August 6,2024).
Position Purpose
Under the direct supervision of the principal or other school administrator, the High School Credit Recovery Monitor is responsible for providing targeted instruction and support to students who need to recover academic credits to stay on track for graduation. The Credit Recovery Monitor will work with the student and various stakeholders to develop and implement personalized learning plans, utilize various instructional methods and monitor student progress. The Credit Recovery Monitor will also be assigned Study Hall duty as needed. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to student success, be adaptable to different learning needs, and possess excellent communication and organizational skills.

Essential Functions
- Utilize technology and online learning platforms, currently Edmentum, to support student enrollment and enhance student learning.
- Provides one-on-one and small group support to students enrolled in credit recovery courses.
- Monitor student academic needs and progress through regular check-ins
- Supervise Study Hall as needed
- Track and report student progress to students, parents, and administration regularly.
- Offer additional support to students as needed
- Develop strategies to motivate and encourage students to stay engaged and complete their coursework.
- Create a positive and productive learning environment that fosters student growth and responsibility.
- Implement classroom management strategies that support a respectful and focused learning atmosphere.
- Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and administrators to ensure alignment of instruction and support services
- Participate in professional development opportunities as needed
- Assists in reinforcement in reading, language arts, mathematics, computer instruction, media and other skills.
- Operate audio visual equipment as needed.
- Constructs, copies, distributes and uses educational materials.

- Ability to follow directives of teacher, media specialist or other supervisor, and assist students with respect to instructional and non-instructional tasks.

- Ability to report work orally or in writing to supervisor as required.
- Effective writing and communication skills.

Qualifications Profile

- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Successful experience working in a school setting.
- Prior experience working with at-risk or struggling students is highly preferred.
- Experience in credit recovery programs or alternative education settings is a plus
- Must hold a valid Colorado Department of Education Substitute License
