TETER is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Structural Project Engineer  to join our team of professionals dedicated to designing safe, innovative, and inspiring public education facilities across California. This role is ideal for a licensed Structural Engineer with proven experience working on K–12 and higher education projects under the California Division of the State Architect (DSA) .

What You'll Do

n

As a Structural Project Engineer at TETER, you will play a critical role in the design and delivery of public education projects. You will:

    n
  • Lead structural design for DSA-regulated projects, including vertical and lateral load systems
  • n
  • Produce and oversee structural drawings using AutoCAD and REVIT
  • n
  • Conduct and review structural calculations and design criteria
  • n
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants, and internal teams
  • n
  • Support or lead construction administration, including RFIs, submittals, and site visits
  • n
  • Manage project quality, schedule, and scope
  • n
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to department standards and QA/QC processes
  • n
  • Serve as Engineer-of-Record on structural-only projects (Level II)
  • n

What You Bring

n
    n
  • Licensure: Current registration as a Structural Engineer in California (required)
  • n
  • Experience:
  • n
      n
    • Minimum 3–5 years (Level I) or 5–8 years (Level II) of structural engineering experience
    • n
    • Demonstrated experience with DSA projects in California's public education sector is required
    • n
    n
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in civil, structural, or architectural engineering
  • n
  • Skills:
  • n
      n
    • Proficiency in AutoCAD, REVIT, and Microsoft Office
    • n
    • Strong understanding of CBC, IBC, ASCE 7, and DSA requirements
    • n
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
    • n
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and mentor junior staff
    • n
    • Familiarity with project management software (Deltek Vantagepoint preferred)
    • n

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary Range: $125,000–$155,000 annually (Actual pay depends on qualifications, experience, location, and business needs)
