Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM (1-hour lunch); on-call availability for emergency repairs
Reports To: Facilities Manager

Frischhertz Electric Company, Inc. is seeking a skilled Fleet Mechanic to service, maintain, and repair our fleet of vehicles, utility trucks, and specialty equipment. This hands-on role is essential to ensuring that all fleet assets operate safely, efficiently, and reliably.

The ideal candidate will have strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities, extensive knowledge of mechanical and hydraulic systems, and the physical stamina to manage repairs in both shop and field environments.

Key Responsibilities

  Inspect vehicle engines and mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems to accurately diagnose issues

  n

• n

  Perform routine maintenance to optimize vehicle performance and extend longevity

  n
n
• n

  Repair or replace malfunctioning components and systems

  n
n
• n

  Conduct test drives to assess vehicle performance and confirm repairs

  n
n
• n

  Maintain accurate logs of repairs, diagnostics, and maintenance activities

  n
n
• n

  Ensure tools and equipment are kept in proper working condition

  n
n
• n

  Follow all company safety policies and procedures

  n
n
• n

  Collaborate with team members to achieve fleet performance goals

  n
n

Qualifications

n

n
• n

  Proven experience as a Fleet Mechanic or similar role

  n
n
• n

  Valid Louisiana CDL license required

  n
n
• n

  Strong knowledge of vehicle systems, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and electronic components

  n
n
• n

  Proficient with diagnostic tools, repair techniques, and heavy equipment handling

  n
n
• n

  Ability to follow procedures, prioritize tasks, and work independently

  n
n
• n

  High school diploma or equivalent

  n
n
• n

  Vocational training, technical certification (e.g., ASE), or completion of a mechanical apprenticeship

  n
n

n

Work Environment

n

This role is primarily based in a garage/shop setting, with occasional field work. The Fleet Mechanic may be exposed to various weather conditions and must be available for emergency repairs as needed.
