The Reliability Engineer is responsible for leading the development and implementation of Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) models to improve the performance, maintainability, and supportability of our products throughout their lifecycle. This role develops and maintains analysis models including Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability (RAM), Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA), Level of Repair Analysis (LORA), and Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA). The Reliability Engineer will work cross-functionally with design engineering, field service, manufacturing, quality, and aftermarket teams to ensure product reliability targets are met and support strategies are evidence-based and cost-effective.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer/ Data Science or a related technical field. Certification in Reliability Engineering (CRE) or equivalent is preferred.
Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in reliability engineering, product support, or maintenance engineering. Proficient in RAM modeling, FMECA tools, and reliability prediction standards such as GEIA-STD-0007, MIL-HDBK-217, and SAE JA1011/JA1012. Experience with Level of Repair Analysis (LORA) and Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA), as well as Logistics Engineering Software such as OPUS, PowerlogJ, WRR, Xcelerator, COMPASS, or ReliaSoft, is preferred. Familiarity with data analytics tools like Excel, Power BI, Python, or R is a plus. Experience working in cross-functional teams-including engineering, field service, and product management-is preferred. A background in defense, energy, or industrial sectors with complex systems is also preferred.
Travel: up to 10% depending on business needs
Work Schedule: Typical work hours are between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday - Friday. Works a sufficient schedule to meet the expectations of the role.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop, document, and maintain RCM models and reliability engineering deliverables across the product portfolio.
  • Conduct RAM analysis to inform design improvements, maintenance plans, and service strategies.
  • Lead FMECA processes to identify failure modes, root causes, and effects on operational readiness.
  • Perform LORA tradeoff analysis to define optimal maintenance strategies and repair vs. replace decision-making.
  • Utilize MTA to develop technical data and procedures to support technical manual and training development.
  • Collaborate with design engineering, service, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to integrate reliability considerations into product development and support plans.
  • Drive data collection and analysis for MTBF, MTTR, and failure trends from field performance, warranty, and service records.
  • Establish reliability test plans and support product validation efforts as needed.
  • Support aftermarket teams in optimizing spare parts planning, service manuals, and training materials using reliability insights.
  • Develop and publish reliability metrics, dashboards, and reports to inform business decisions.
  • Assist in customer presentations and responses to reliability-related inquiries or proposal requirements.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
