Job Summary
The BYU-Hawaii Store is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Cellphone Services Coordinator to manage all aspects of cellphone-related service. This includes coordinating activations, upgrades, troubleshooting, billing, inventory, and delivering excellent customer service to students, alumni, faculty, staff, retirees, BYUH departments, and the Polynesian Cultural Center. The coordinator also ensures compliance with university policies and vendor agreements.

Primary Responsibilities
Cellphone Services
  • Serve as the primary contact for campus cellphone service needs.
  • Coordinate new activations, renewals, upgrades, and cancellations with designated service providers (currently AT&T, T-Mobile, & Verizon).
  • Maintain accurate records of user accounts, device status, and billing cycles.
  • Troubleshoot device or service-related issues and escalate to vendors when necessary.
  • Educate users on plan usage, policies, and best practices.
  • Provide in-person and email support to students, alumni, faculty, staff, retirees, BYUH departments, and the Polynesian Cultural Center regarding service plans and device compatibility.
  • Liaise with service providers to negotiate service contracts.
  • Track inventory of devices, accessories, and SIM cards, ensuring proper storage and documentation.
  • Monitor and reconcile billing statements to ensure accuracy and proper cost center assignments.
  • Assist with promotional events and educational materials to raise awareness of cellphone offerings.
  • Collaborate with procurement or IT departments for purchasing and policy alignment.
  • Stay informed about carrier promotions, technology advancements, and compliance requirements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the smooth operation of cellphone services.
Team Leadership & Scheduling
  • Create, manage, and adjust staff schedules to ensure efficient coverage.
  • Lead team meetings to share updates, provide training, and reinforce goals.
  • Foster a positive team culture focused on development, accountability, and exceptional service.
Additional Duties
  • Responsibilities may expand to include assignments within other areas of the university's retail operations as needed.
Minimum Qualification and Experience Requirements
  • High school diploma required; associate degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in retail or tech support.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to inspire and develop a team.
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets and basic accounting functions related to billing.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to shifting priorities.
  • High attention to detail and discretion when handling personal or financial information.
  • Committed to upholding the values and mission of BYU-Hawaii.
Preferred
  • Familiarity with cellphone plans and services or mobile device support.
  • Experience working in a higher education or campus retail environment.

Approximate starting hourly rate:
21.00 - 24.00
