Job Summary
Position Summary
The Quality Engineer will be responsible for coordination and execution of the Customer and Engineering Quality functions in interaction with the Quality, Engineering and Technical Customer Support Departments of DEUTZ Corporation Americas and DEUTZ AG.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Quality Engineer will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties:

  • Interface between DEUTZ customers in Americas and DEUTZ with a strong relation to Engineering and
  • Technical Customer Support teams.
  • Identification, correction, and prevention of defect root causes generated within DEUTZ Corporation.
  • Communication and follow up of the identification, correction, and prevention of defect root causes
  • generated in DEUTZ facilities outside of the Americas.
  • Assist with coordination of quality defects outside of the Americas as required.
  • Coordination of warranty claim analysis, help desk ticket analysis, and field testing in close
  • coordination with Technical Customer Support team.
  • Participation and representation of Customer Quality in project team meetings.
  • Risk analysis and documentation of lessons learned within the Product Development Process.
  • Process implementation and improvement of Customer Quality relevant processes.
  • Assist with Internal Audits in cooperation with Corporate Quality team.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Other Qualifications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good computer skills and knowledge of computer software (e.g. SAP, MS office).
  • Ability to read technical drawings (GD&T).
  • Process oriented.

Travel Requirements
  • Anticipate domestic travel of 0-10% travel
Minimum Requirements
  • Degree in Mechanical engineering or similar advanced technical education background.
  • Minimum 3 years of previous Quality Assurance experience.
  • Knowledge of tools and methodology as well as ISO Standards.
  • Excellent knowledge in technical English language.
Preferred Requirements
  • Diesel Engine background or engine repair experience.
  • Knowledge of German language.
  • SAP knowledge.
Physical Requirements:
  • Manufacturing assembly and warehouse environment. Subject to noise, dust, diesel fuel, oil, and extreme hot/cold temperatures. No A/C.
  • If the employee is in the office area, the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
