What We Need: We’re hiring a Senior Project Manager to manage commercial interior sites for clients in Chicago and the surrounding suburbs. Ideal candidates will have experience managing complex interior projects with strong attention to detail, financial and contract management, and client service standards. A thoughtful, collaborative, creative mindset is critical for this role. What You'll Do: Role & Responsibilities: Manage high quality, positive client relationships Develop & maintain good relationships with project partners Train PEs with support from Team Lead Communication: proactive outreach to project partners, particularly phone and verbal communication, to get answers quickly, follow up with email documentation Build new relationships within the industry and be aware of new opportunities Participate in extracurricular industry activities and organizations Establish a comfort level with interviewing and pitching for new business Autonomy on your project: ability to delegate properly and understanding when to escalate to a Team Lead Come to your Team Lead with a problem, and a solution, and be ready to execute with their approval & oversight Have an understanding of project priorities and how to manage multiple tasks, and create your own order of operations, with Team Lead support Own and present team process trainings Develop new business opportunities Address problems and solutions autonomously, only involve Team Lead in major issues Full ownership of project order of operations Manage more PEs, occasional oversight of PMs on join projects or preconstruction Technical Requirements: Review Prime Contract with Team Lead Memorize and internalize the critical details on a project Drawing and construction document review - ensure folders are set up properly with clean, up to date templates and proper file structures and naming conventions Manage permit process with some delegation to PE Send accounting questionnaire and ensure delivery to Accounting Participate in kickoff meeting Create Schedule with Superintendent Trade partner awards & buyouts Create scope documents/Exhibit A for all Work Orders Create SOV and have final version approved by Team Lead Manage financial master, delegation to PEs Pencil draw creation & submission to owner Set hard deadlines with trade partner for CO/claims approval each month Set hard deadlines with trade partner for pencil values each month Set weekly check in with Superintendents prior to setting OAC agendas, with oversight from Team Lead Lead OAC meetings, delegate agenda & minutes to PE & review Manage RFI process Review submittal process for PEs Manage Claims with oversight from Team Lead Closeout processes Final financial reconciliation Facilitate punch list Job cost details & recovery - manage GRs & contingency Estimating and Preconstruction management without Team Lead oversight What You'll Bring: Minimum of 8 years of experience as a commercial interior project manager Proven ability to manage highly detailed corporate interior projects Professional communication skills with project partners and clients Experience with high-rise commercial tenant improvement projects (required) Ability to win and execute profitable, high-quality projects Positive attitude and commitment to delivering a premier experience for clients and partners Comfortable pitching and interviewing for new client work Confident in managing project team members Ability to mentor and support to junior staff Compensation & Benefits: Competitive salary and industry-leading benefits package, including: Gold PPO Health Insurance 401k Plan Unlimited Flex PTO Commuter Benefits, Paid Family Leave Professional Development Volunteer Time Off We are an equal opportunity employer.
