Essential Functions and Responsibilities include: Operate Air Methods' aircraft safely and legally. Complete pre-flight checks, verify aircraft airworthiness, and sign off the Daily Flight Log. Conduct thorough walk-arounds of the aircraft before and after flights. Hold final authority for aircraft operations and safety of passengers, cargo, and equipment. Familiarize with all aircraft and medical systems, ensuring the medical flight team is comfortable with the interior and systems. Complete required documentation accurately. Conduct detailed flight planning with minimal notice to meet standards. Participate in meetings, activities, projects, committees, and community outreach. Qualifications Applicants must be able to perform all essential functions satisfactorily. Air Methods provides reasonable accommodations for disabled employees as required by law. Skills:
Recent flying experience in category for a commercial operator or military within the past 24 months; maintain positive relationships with colleagues, EMS, hospitals, and the public. Visual Flight Rules (VFR) Program - Required Flight Times:
Total 2000 flight hours, including 1500 in category, 1000 PIC hours in category, 500 rotor wing turbine hours, 200 cross-country hours (50 at night), 100 unaided night PIC hours (or 50 with 100 NVG hours), and 50 hours instrument time. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Commercial & Instrument Ratings, ATP in category, First or Second-Class FAA Medical certificate. Physical Requirements:
Maintain weight below 250 pounds and be under 70 years old. Education & Experience:
Associates degree or equivalent, 2-5 years related experience; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
