5–8 years Atypikal is a boutique creative agency based in Chicago, built for brands that don’t do cookie-cutter. We’re a nimble, collaborative team that punches above our weight—building visual identities, campaigns, and brand experiences that actually move people. We’re looking for a Senior Designer who’s as comfortable in Figma as they are sketching out concepts on a whiteboard. Someone who can think in systems, sweat the details, and tell stories through visuals that stick. You’ll play a key role in shaping brands across a range of mediums—from digital to physical, static to experiential. What You’ll Do: Concept and design brand systems, campaigns, and creative assets across multiple touchpoints Own projects from kickoff through final delivery, with attention to craft and consistency Collaborate closely with creative directors, writers, strategists, and developers Contribute to pitch decks, moodboards, and visual storytelling for new business Work on experiential and environmental design projects (pop-ups, installations, activations) Help mentor and guide junior designers Bring ideas to life through motion, prototyping, or presentation when needed What We’re Looking For: 5–8 years of design experience, ideally in creative, digital, or advertising agencies A strong, well-rounded portfolio that shows range, taste, and storytelling chops Mastery of core tools: Adobe CC, Figma, and a motion/design prototyping tool is a plus Experience building and extending brand worlds—not just making things look good, but feel intentional Comfort working on cross-disciplinary projects including web, content, and experiential Clear communicator who can talk through your ideas and take feedback like a pro A self-starter who thrives in small teams, wears multiple hats, and doesn’t wait for permission Nice to Haves: 3D skills Experience with signage, fabrication, or environmental design Familiarity with production workflows (print, digital, spatial) How to Apply: Send your portfolio and a few words about yourself to weare@atypikal.co Chicago-based candidates only.
