CMS Architect
with a deep background in modern web and app development to lead and deliver solutions across our digital landscape. This role focuses on Contentful CMS and involves driving strategic architecture, development processes, and delivery excellence to support Carter’s large-scale retail operations. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of designing and implementing headless CMS solutions, leading major React-based web applications, and utilizing serverless infrastructure with modern web tools. This hands-on technical role emphasizes code quality, architectural excellence, and best practices in digital applications to ensure seamless customer experiences and high-performance content delivery. Key Responsibilities Contentful Implementation and Development Delivery (50%) Define CI/CD strategies for seamless integration and deployment tailored to headless CMS applications. Partner with development teams to engineer deployment pipelines that meet high-quality standards and support agile development cycles. Develop and implement headless CMS solutions for Carter’s website and app, leveraging Contentful, static site generators, and server-side rendering practices. Conduct code reviews and advise on best practices to ensure scalability and performance optimization. Provide oversight and participate directly to resolve technical challenges, including pair programming to meet delivery deadlines. Establish and enforce security and performance standards for development delivery. Strategic CMS Architecture (25%) Lead architectural decisions focusing on headless CMS capabilities, scalability, and adaptability. Establish and evolve technical direction, including selecting tools and frameworks for enterprise integrations. Design innovative content workflows aligned with Carter’s retail technology ecosystem. Advocate for cutting-edge technologies to enhance Carter’s content strategy and digital competitiveness
Production Support and
Maintenance Leadership (25%)
Provide high-quality production support 24/7, especially during peak eCommerce periods. Lead root cause analysis for production issues to ensure rapid resolution. Define and implement incident response, on-call schedules, and operational processes. Continuously improve maintenance procedures to enhance system stability and performance. Leadership Expectations
Mentor team members in Contentful CMS best practices and modern web architecture. Promote collaboration through pair programming and technical guidance. Communicate complex solutions clearly to non-technical stakeholders. Qualifications
Required:
Strong architectural and design skills with the ability to analyze and drive decisions in complex systems. Deep understanding of SDLC, Agile, and compliance frameworks like PCI. Expertise in full software development lifecycle practices. Self-assured professional capable of working under pressure with a proactive attitude. Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent. 10+ years in web technologies with responsibilities in design, architecture, and delivery. 8+ years as a delivery lead, coding and mentoring teams.
