The Head of Financial Planning & Analysis is a strategic finance leader responsible for driving financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analytical insights that support business decision-making and performance improvement. This role partners closely with executive leadership, business unit leaders, and operational teams to deliver actionable insights, build scalable financial models, and ensure alignment between financial outcomes and strategic priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Financial Planning & Analysis
Lead the annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and long-range planning processes across the organization.
Own the corporate financial model, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and scalability.
Translate business strategies into financial outcomes with clear performance KPIs and scenario analysis.
Lead special projects and ad hoc financial analyses as requested by senior leadership.
Business Partnership & Decision Support
Serve as a finance liaison to operational leadership, ensuring finance is embedded in day-to-day decision-making.
Act as a key advisor to the CFO and executive leadership by delivering insights on financial trends, risks, and opportunities.
Provide financial leadership and analytical support to operational teams, identifying risks, opportunities, and key business drivers.
Collaborate with department heads and operational leaders to evaluate initiatives, investments, and ROI.
Develop business cases for strategic initiatives, including M&A, new products/services, or capital expenditures.
Reporting & Performance Management
Establish standardized reporting and planning processes across regions to ensure consistency, accuracy, and scalability.
Implement and maintain dashboards and key metrics that provide visibility into business performance. ( e.g. Power BI)
Identify financial and operational improvement opportunities through variance analysis and trend forecasting.
Team Leadership & Process Optimization
Lead and develop a high-performing FP&A team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, ownership, and analytical rigor.
Build and implement standardized, efficient FP&A processes and tools to drive scalability.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including automation of reporting, improved forecasting methodologies, and enhanced business intelligence tools.
Enhance and maintain financial planning tools, models, and systems to support dynamic forecasting and scenario planning. ( e.g. OneStream and Excel)
Ensure alignment with corporate finance policies, compliance requirements, and internal controls.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in finance , Accounting, Economics, or related field (MBA or CPA/CMA preferred).
8–12+ years of progressive experience in FP&A or corporate finance, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
Experience in a fast-paced, matrixed environment or private equity-backed organization is a plus.
Technical Skills
Advanced Excel and financial modeling capabilities.
Experience with ERP and FP&A systems (e.g., OneStream , IFS , Power BI and Excel ).
Strong understanding of GAAP and financial statement analysis .
Leadership & Soft Skills
Strategic thinker with the ability to translate data into business insight.
Strong communication and presentation skills; capable of interfacing with C-suite and board-level stakeholders as well as ability to convey complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
Results-driven, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
Ability to mentor, coach, and lead cross-functional teams.
Proven experience supporting operational teams through financial business partnering, preferably in a multi-site or service-based environment.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment .
