Senior Project Manager
with advanced experience in portfolio, program, and project management within biomedical, pharmaceutical, biotech, academic medical center, or health-related organizations. This resource will support the NIH/National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) Project Management Office (PMO). Provide leadership, direction, and mentorship to contractor staff, supporting their professional development. Act as the primary contact for project stakeholders, including senior management and other departments. Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and expectations. Track and report on contract financials, including expenses and resource allocation. Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and standards. Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including plans, reports, and minutes. Serve as Deputy Operations Director, providing strategic leadership for the program. Perform project coordinator and project manager responsibilities as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in science, public health, business, or project management; master’s degree preferred. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred. Minimum 10 years of experience in portfolio, program, and project management support; at least 5 years in biomedical, pharmaceutical, biotech, or health-related organizations if degree is not science-related. At least 5 years of experience as a team or project lead. Operational program/project management experience in a federal agency is strongly preferred. Experience with OTA (Other Transaction Authority) is preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Understanding of project management principles, with relevant work experience in biomedical or health-related organizations. Experience developing project management processes, tools, and templates. Excellent verbal and written communication skills for coordinating across diverse stakeholders. Strong leadership skills to manage teams of project managers and coordinators across various projects.
