Join PTC’s Market and Competitive Strategy team to provide actionable insights that inform business decisions, drive winning strategies, and enable PTC to capitalize on industry trends.

High-performing analysts play an integral part of the business decision-making process and help PTC achieve and maintain competitive leadership. They develop understanding, create insight, and drive action for senior management and leaders in strategy, product management, sales, technology development, finance, and marketing. Employees in this role are also responsible for identifying competitive trends, providing early warnings on threats and opportunities in the evolving competitive landscape, and evaluating their impact on PTC. They help executive decision-makers understand the competitive implications of current and potential decisions and drive action across the company through timely, impactful deliverables. The candidate must be able to work in a high-profile, high-impact and demanding role. Outstanding written and oral presentation skills are required, as this position includes executive level interactions. The position reports to the VP of Market & Competitive Insights.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 2+ years of experience in competitive intelligence (CI), management consulting or related roles Exceptional communication and presentation skills Comfortable speaking with and presenting to senior management Demonstrated business acumen and interest in corporate strategy, research and complex problem solving Familiarity with the enterprise software market and general technology concepts a plus Oversees and/or personally gathers, validates, and analyzes information and perspectives from both internal and external sources Creates their own perspectives and communicates synthesized, executive-level analysis with clear messages and a fact-based point of view in a story-lined report

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, data analytics or other relevant degree; MBA or other advanced degrees preferred

PREFERRED BACKGROUND: 2+ years market research and intelligence and/or related fields Can work effectively both independently and in a team Strong understanding of and experience with research methods (quantitative and qualitative) Demonstrated strategy development and execution experience Strategic and critical thinker with demonstrated problem solving skills Ability to effectively interact with and influence management audiences Demonstrated ability to build productive working relationships across functional areas Excellent listening, communication and presentation skills Well-developed project management skills, including the ability to manage and deliver effectively on multiple priorities Experience effectively managing and collaborating with market research vendors Familiarity with IT Analyst firms to maintain and create relationships with analysts on specific horizontal and technology markets At PTC, we believe in the power of diverse ideas and perspectives.
